Debunking Detox Myths and Getting the Facts!

Trying to get information about detoxing, health, and weight loss can be overwhelming and frustrating.  There is so much conflicting information out there, that it's almost impossible to know what is right and what is not.  That's why we wanted to debunk a few myths about cleansing and help you get a better understanding of the truth about getting rid of toxins and getting healthy.

Fact or myth? Your body detoxes naturally, and you don’t need a detox program.

Years ago, this statement would be true.  Your liver, lymphatic system, and gut are all created to cleanse your body and filter toxins.  However, today with so much toxicity in our food, water, and environment, your body simply can’t keep up.  Plus, so much of the food we eat - the sugar, gluten, dairy, and artificial, processed junk doesn’t have the nutrition our body needs to keep functioning efficiently.

When your body has a lot of toxins to get rid of, it’s harder to flush them out.  In order to cleanse the toxins and reset your health, eating nutrition-dense, clean foods while drinking plenty of fluids to hydrate your body is key to successful cleansing.  Once the body is cleansed of so much toxicity, it can start operating like the well-oiled machine it is designed to be.

Fact or myth? Only Juice-based cleanse and detoxes are effective.

This is not only untrue, but it can also be dangerous!  Your body needs a wide variety of clean, whole foods to flush out the toxins.  Eating foods with plenty of fiber, a high water content, and tons of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals make every organ in your body work a bit better.  Juices have nutrition, but they often don't have the fiber or healthy fats your body needs to feel full and satisfied.  If you are hungry, not only is your body going to have to work harder, you are more likely to abandon the cleanse.

Fact or myth? Detoxes have no real benefits.

This is another myth.  In the past, detox programs were based on starvation diets which were incredibly harmful, but now that nutritional science has made so many advances, we understand how to detox in a way that is not only safe, it is necessary to improving health.  An effective detox, such as our Whole Food Whole Body Cleanse is built around proven nutritional principles.  Every food that is part of the cleanse is proven to be beneficial and cleansing to your body in multiple ways.  With nourishing, healthy foods and minimal exposure to toxins, your body can heal, rebuild, and recover!

We hear from a lot of people who doubt that a cleanse can help them - and so many of them just don't even attempt to improve their health. They go through life sick, suffering, and unhappy. It's heartbreaking because we know that good nutrition and support would change their lives for the better!
